Description
Mondelēz is looking for range of technology solutions and knowledge which cover the following areas:
- Seamless mixing technologies delivering homogeneity and consistency of food materials
- Precision moisture control across product matrices
- Crystal phase and structure control to accelerate processing time while minimizing energy utilization.
- Managing and optimizing particle size distribution in food matrices
- Control the surface deposition of sugar, salt, oils, cremes and inclusions to be accurately placed on base products.
- Control the flow and deformation of fluids of varying viscosity to achieve precision deposition and optimal moulding
- New chocolate mould materials that are cost advantaged, ideally injection mouldable and mechanically and thermally advantaged vs polycarbonate moulds
Background
In order to improve efficiencies, both in the product and sustainability dimensions, Mondelēz wishes to improve its fundamental understanding and process control of the unit operations that it uses in its manufacturing operations. Spending heavily on new equipment is not the answer but unlocking new possibilities via the use of existing equipment and processes is.

Preferred Collaboration types
At this stage, we're open to various types of mutually beneficial partnerships including OEMs with established solutions and collaboration with startups/Contract Research Organisations who ideally have a working prototype technology or technology applied in an adjacent category. These can be proof concepts, with the view to offering a scalable solution.
